Polls about Vietnamese voters in California governor race, Phu Nguyen, and Van Tran

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

FYI,

According to an article in Orange County Register, Vietnamese American voters are favoring Meg Whitman over Jerry Brown:
“White non-Hispanic voters favor Whitman 48-40, and Vietnamese Americans favor her 40-34.”

From another article of The Orange County Register newspaper, Phu Nguyen is favoring to take Van Tran’s assembly seat over Allan Mansoor because of strong Vietnamese voters base. Van Tran is still the underdog in the race against Loretta Sanchez because of 17 point advantage of registered Latino voters.

Greetings!

On this Independence Day, my family would like to wish you a happy and safe Fourth of July.

Today, our Nation celebrates its 234th birthday. Let us be reminded of the blessings that we sometimes take for granted – freedom, opportunity, and justice. Let us also pay tribute to the men and women of our armed forces who are protecting our nation around the world.

As our state faces a daunting set of challenges ahead, may we all come together to overcome those challenges. We wish you all the best and have a happy Fourth of July.

Thank you and God Bless,

Past week news articles about Van Tran, Madison Nguyen, Minh Duong, Phu Nguyen

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

World Cup 2010 is taking over everything in Vietnamese community or Hispanic community. There are a few articles about Van Tran, Madison Nguyen, Minh Duong, Phu Nguyen in the news. There are a lot of heat discussion or Vietnamese articles about the choice between Madison Nguyen and Minh Duong in Vietnamese forums or mailing lists. There are nothing better than watching the soccer matches in World Cup 2010.

Results of Vietnamese candidates in California primary election 2010

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

There are a lot of news to cover about primary election in 12 states. In California, 80-20 endorsement campaigning for Ted Lieu ( for California Attorney General in Democrat primary) and Tom Campbell (for U.S. Senate in Republican primary) didn’t yield anything.

Therefore, I just summarized on Vietnamese candidates in California.

Van Tran won Republican primary 2010 for the 47th Congressional District. It will be my favor match to see if Loretta Sanchez could keep all Vietnamese voters who was voting for her in the past or newly Vietnamese Democratic voters from campaigning with Phu Nguyen.

47th Congressional District primary election results

http://www.ocvote.com/live/pri2010/results.htm#c-272

Van Tran campaigned for Allan Mansoor who beat Long Pham in Republican primary 2010 for State Assembly District 68. Phu Nguyen won in Democratic primary elections 2010 by beating Joseph DoVinh. It will be interest race because Phu Nguyen will try to get all Vietnamese voters from Republican party in general election while Van Tran will try to ask Vietnamese voters to vote for Allan Mansoor.

Madison was forced on run-off election with Minh Duong if results are final. Thomas Nguyen is no match for Chuck Reed despite finish second place in city of San Jose mayor.

Joseph DoVinh against Phu Nguyen in 68th Assemble District of Orange County, California

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Joseph Dovinh got attention lately because of his support to McCain, friend of Van Tran, name calling, job description, etc… However, Joseph Dovinh was registered as a Democrat and running against Phu Nguyen in the Democratic primary for the rights in November election to replace Van Tran in 68th Assemble District of Orange County, California.

KICK OFF 2010 CAMPAIGN: PHU NGUYEN & LORETTA SANCHEZ

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Well,

I don’t know if Phu Nguyen will be fund by Loretta Sanchez’s campaign money for his ticket in Democratic primary. It’s looking that Loretta Sanchez will get help by better Vietnamese American ground soldiers from Phu Nguyen’s camp in Orange County to recruit Vietnamese American voters. It’s probably helping Phu Nguyen in term of logistic support for election campaigns from professional campaign staffs in Loretta Sanchez’s camp.

Enclosed is email from Phu Nguyen about his campaign in February.
